Amanda Chapman

Welcome!  Having spent most of my life in the Appalachian Mountains of East TN, I love to help my fellow Humans encounter wholeness and well-being by way of embodiment and nature connection practices in the More Than Human World.  I believe that with all of modern life's distractions and non-stop activity, simply being, which may mean stillness or moving slowly in nature, can open the senses and deepen the relationship with one's self and with others, ultimately enhancing health and happiness.  Being in nature's world may bring a sense of relief from all the everyday stresses of life, connect us, and begin to fill our hearts with light and love for ourselves and the world around us.

I am a Certified Forest Therapy Guide by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT), a HeartMath Certified Practitioner, and an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor/Mental Health Service Provider (LPC/MHSP) in the state of TN.  I've devoted my life's work to providing presence, a listening ear, and an objective voice for support and guidance, both within a traditional counseling setting indoors, as well as outdoors thru Walk and Talk Therapy.  I love to work in collaboration with clients, focusing on goals such as Self-Worth, Healthy Relationships, Body Positivity, a Unique Voice, and a Meaningful Purpose.  I strongly believe that each of us holds the key to our well-being, and I try very hard, with the help of nature, to help folks remember that!

In addition to my counseling and forest bathing practices, I co-facilitate a monthly Spirituality in Nature Group or SING at various settings throughout my region, where all are welcome from all religious and spiritual backgrounds.  This is free to all, and offered thru Shakti in the Mountains, Johnson City, TN, and you may register at shaktiinthemountains.com.  Lastly, I am very excited to share that I have received my certification as a Mindfulness-Based Ecotherapy Facilitator, and offer mindfulness classes based in nature.

Please contact me for walks!  I guide walks in my local area, which typically last 3 hrs., for individuals and small groups.  My charge is $75.00 for these forest bathing experiences, which primarily take place in local park settings.  If you have a beloved nature spot and would like to have a walk there, please don't hesitate to ask me!  I love discovering new areas, and would happy to explore this with you!
