Charlotte Farewell

Charlotte Farewell

I am a certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) and a passionate advocate for reconnecting people with the healing power of nature. With over 15 years of experience in public health research and mental health promotion, I bring a unique blend of scientific insight, compassionate guidance, and deep reverence for the natural world to every forest bathing experience. My journey into forest therapy was inspired by my extensive work with women, caregivers, and educators which are populations often at the heart of community well-being and population health. As an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Director of the Population Mental Health and Wellbeing concentration, I implement and study community-based programs designed to foster resilience, reduce stress, and promote holistic wellness. These programs emphasize the importance of rest, reflection, and relational connection, principles that also lie at the heart of forest therapy. As a Forest Therapy Guide, I offer gentle, sensory-based walks that invite participants to slow down, tune into their surroundings, and cultivate a deeper relationship with the natural world. My sessions are rooted in the practice of Relational Forest Therapy™, a modality that supports mutual healing between people and nature. These walks are accessible to all bodies and backgrounds, and are especially welcoming to those seeking restoration from burnout, anxiety, or the demands of caregiving. Through this work, I hope to inspire a sense of belonging, resilience, and reverence for ourselves, for each other, and for the Earth.

O'Fallon Park

Kittredge, CO, USA

Nestled along Bear Creek, O’Fallon Park is one of several scenic parks in the Jefferson County and Denver Mountain Park system, all linked by the Bear Creek Trail. The park’s five trails wind through a landscape dotted with quartz and alive with butterflies fluttering among wildflowers. The picnic area, shaded by towering Ponderosa Pines, sits right beside the creek, offering a peaceful and cool retreat. This forest therapy walk will not be a hike; rather it is a slow wander that is accessible for all ages and fitness levels.
