Jess Boyd
After experiencing a rough start to motherhood, Jess found healing in long hours by the creek and mornings spent under the Forest canopy with her kiddos. As Nature led her back into a sense of embodiment and connection, Jess discovered a passion for creating spaces where families could gather and connect with Nature and each other. She started local branches of family and nature-oriented organizations in Macon and Atlanta, GA.
When Jess heard about Forest Bathing for the first time, it was a lightbulb moment. She had long believed in the importance of allowing children time to play in Nature...but what about us adults?! Just as adequate time in nature helps kids to regulate their emotions, supercharge their brains and feel a deeper sense of connection to their bodies, it does the same for adults-and we need it just as much (or maybe more!). What's more, Forest Bathing gives us a chance to unplug from the frantic pace of modern life and cultivate a deeper relationship with the wider community around us.
Jess is excited to invite adults and families to get to know the forests of Metro Atlanta and Athens, GA, perhaps in a new and different way than ever before! Certified as a guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) and as a Chi for Two® Embodiment Coach, Jess guides group walks that offer participants the opportunity to wander, to be still and to engage with the More-than-Human world and their own bodies through a variety of sensory and somatic activities.
When she is not in the Forest, Jess spends as much time as possible outside gardening, reading, singing, studying embodiment and nervous system regulation and connecting with her family and community.
