Meet your guide…

Judy is a nature guide certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. She enjoys connecting people with nature in the Phoenix Valley, helping them to explore the beauty, complexity, and serenity of the Sonoran Desert. She guides walks at Boyce Thompson Arboretum, the Japanese Friendship Garden, and other natural areas in the Valley. After 30 years practicing Veterinary Medicine, Judy began coaching and realized that nature has an incredible healing power. She completed the certification program at the ANFT, finding a profound connection with others who felt a calling to share the beneficial effects of being in nature. She leads group programs at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum and the Japanese Friendship Garden as well as offering walks for private groups or individuals. She endeavors to share the physical, emotional, and mental beneficial effects of Shinrin Yoku to everyone open to slowing down and opening themselves to nature. Judy has played taiko, a Japanese style of drumming, for the past ten years with Fushicho Daiko in Phoenix. She also loves to travel and writes about her experiences for various publications. Nature varies depending on the location but it always provides beauty, peacefulness, and a sense of connection with the world.
