Karen Richter

Karen Richter

Karen’s warm and welcoming style, along with her calming disposition, fosters an atmosphere where individuals quickly relax and immerse themselves in the natural world using all their senses. She is a certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy Guides & Programs and the founder of Cohesive Outcomes, a company focused on personal and professional empowerment programs. The new branch of her company, Confident by Nature (with its website launching soon) leverages nature as both the classroom and the teacher, blending Karen’s extensive leadership development expertise with the wealth of medical and scientific research demonstrating the mental and physical benefits of Forest Therapy. With a lifelong love for the outdoors — as evidenced by time spent hiking, camping, skiing, biking, and kayaking — Karen has many happy memories of leading her family (and Girl Scout troop) on many nature adventures over the years. Her professional background in corporate, focused on maximizing professional potential, laid the groundwork for her entrepreneurial efforts aimed at boosting confidence in women entrepreneurs and businesswomen. Yet, it was her own personal struggle with stress, self-doubt, exhaustion, and resulting health challenges that drew her to Forest Therapy, helping her realize the profound impact a deeper relationship with the natural world could have on her overall health and well-being. Karen is passionate about guiding people into deeper connections with nature. She is thrilled to be sharing forest bathing experiences designed to quiet the mind and body, alleviate stress, stimulate the imagination, and create community among participants. Based about 1.5 hours north of Philadelphia, Karen loves to travel and welcomes the opportunity to trek to new locations to conduct private or group nature immersions, workshops, and speaking engagements.
Remotely-guided Nature Immersion - via Zoom

Remotely-guided Nature Immersion - via Zoom

Feb 24, 2024 | 09:30 A.M. - 10:30 A.M.

Bucks County, PA, USA

Let's slow down for a moment, immerse ourselves in the wonder of the natural world, and gather some tranquility to bring back into our busy lives. Let's forge a deeper connection with nature and our inner selves and rediscover the joy of simply ‘being’, instead of constantly ‘doing’. Join me for a remotely guided nature immersion where we'll journey together to experience a deep, sensory connection with the natural world around us. The nature immersion experience is inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin yoku (“Forest Bathing”), a research-based practice known to boost immune strength, reduce stress, and improve cognitive function, all while helping us feel more connected – to each other, to the natural world around us, and to ourselves. The magic of this immersion, guided from afar, is that it takes place in your chosen natural space – a local park, a garden or greenhouse (especially nice as an escape from the cold winter weather), or the familiar comfort of your own yard. All you need is a view of the natural world and a device (with connection to the internet). Many participants of remote immersions have commented that they appreciated being able to connect with nature in their own backyards – without the need to drive to a different location, and allowing them to have daily reconnection with the newfound friends of the natural realm in their yard. It's amazing how a familiar spot outdoors can suddenly feel like a new world, ready to be explored with fresh eyes. As your guide on this journey, I’ll offer a series of simple, yet profound ‘invitations’ to allow you to slow down, sink into the moment, and intentionally interact with the natural world around you. Then we’ll come back as a group to share our experiences. Sharing is totally optional, though. There are no expectations of specific outcomes, just a shared journey of discovery, before we are invited once again to each explore further, alone yet together, in our chosen corners of the world.
