Laura Reda

Laura Reda

Restore Our Nature Forest Bathing is based in Portland, Oregon, on land first tended to by the Kalapuya and Chinookan peoples (amongst other Indigenous tribes whose descendants are still here), where the mighty Columbia River meets the Willamette Valley and greenspaces abound.

Laura Lindberg Reda is a certified forest guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy who supports modern day, stressed-out humans in improving their mind-body health and overall wellness through forest bathing walks (aka forest therapy) to connect with the land and other living beings.

As the founder of Restore Our Nature LLC, Laura is passionate about the healing effects of connecting and consciously interacting with nature. She believes forest bathing is a practice everyone can benefit from as part of life’s journey. Restore Our Nature promotes this spirit of engagement through guided forest walks to help restore our own unique internal human nature, while also inspiring acts of reciprocity to restore our nature spaces through conservation education and land rehabilitation consultations.

A life-long naturalist, Laura grew up in the Midwest tree climbing, camping, and rock collecting. Her experiences with outdoor education and youth adventure programs were foundational in developing her leadership and survival skills and love of nature. After graduating from Northwestern University and moving to the Pacific Northwest, Laura has spent much of her time during the last 20+ years volunteering for land stewardship events in her local watershed, working on her own backyard restoration project, and, since 2021, leading forest bathing events in and around Portland, Oregon.

For over two decades, Laura has also maintained a career in the legal industry, working on complex, high-stakes, and high-stress corporate matters, an ongoing experience which has made her time connecting with nature all the more essential. Laura understands firsthand the restorative benefits of unplugging and spending time outdoors, and she seeks to share this gift with others in ways they can incorporate into their own everyday life.

LISTEN TO THE LIVING WORLD. In collaboration with ANFT and Quiet Parks International as part of the International Forest Bathing & Soundwalk Weekend, please join me for a “SOUNDWALK” (a mostly silent & slow walk, with a few stops along our path). Across the world, guides and communities will come together for local experiences centered on slowing down, listening, and reconnecting with the living world. We’ll notice what it’s like to let our ears lead the way while woodpeckers forage, squirrels leap from limb to limb, wind rustles through the leaves, and the end-of-summertime creek trickles slowly in the distance. This experience is being offered free of charge* in an effort for all to participate in this global moment, though please still register here since there is a 15 person limit (you can enter $0, or if you choose to donate on a sliding scale, I will share it with Quiet Parks International). *NOTE: If you drive, there is a $10 parking fee (or you can use an annual parking pass if you have one or want to purchase it at the Tryon Creek Nature Center on site - valid for all Oregon State Parks). If you take a bus, there's a stop on line 35.
