Meet your guide…

Jeannie Nairn
Jeannie has found a different way to be in the woods in creating Woodlands Breathing, by working in partnership with many tree friends along the way. With an opportunity to re-train in recent years, she is now certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy as a Forest Therapy Guide. These days, she lives in West Lothian, near Edinburgh, Scotland.
You will often find her in the woods with her 4-legged inspiration and companion, Kip as well as human beings. Jeannie has worked in a variety of environments over the years, and most recently over 15 years in the forest industry in Scotland. Previously, she is grateful to have had time to explore some of the countryside around Tokyo and further afield while she lived in Japan. Little did she know, how things might circle around again many years later. However, a wander in a local bookshop one day and a passing remark several months later led her in a new direction.
Her life path has taken a new fork in the woods, supporting her to remember who she is and enabled lots of new connections - in the human world and with many tree friends along the way. She will encourage you to find space to connect and thrive - with yourself and nature.
There will be time to slow down, to ponder, to be curious, to 'coorie' in, to play and explore with your senses as you experience WellBEing in the Woods and develop your own forest bathing practice. Most of our walks are hosted at venues across central Scotland - and you can join in-person or online remotely, so from anywhere in the world. You can share your local woodland / green space across the time zones or connect from the comfort of your home.
We are happy to arrange tailored events at a location of your choosing by special arrangement - this could be a group of friends, work colleagues or charity group, gathering in person or online. For online groups (UK only), we can also offer wellness packs so that everyone can share a similar 'forest tea'. We can discuss options for different 'invitations' depending on the group and the occasion(s).
Please head over to the website if you'd like to sign up for the Woodlands Breathing newsletter, A Leaf in Time which will keep you updated about events dropping and other wee twigs to share along the way - the blog lists previous issues. You can also follow us on socials.
We (me and my tree friends) look forward to welcoming you to the woods near you soon! 🌲🍄🌳🐾
